Views From The Bridge
Here are some photos we took while walking across the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
As usual, click on the small picture to see the full-size version.
 |
This one is taken from the approaches, and shows the pylons
on the North side. Normally you can climb up inside the South pylons to
admire the views (and an art exhibition), but it's closed at the moment
for renovation. |
| This one shows the panoramic view to the East from near the
centre of the bridge. From left to right you can see: Kirribilli Point,
Fort Denison and the Opera House. |

And here's a photo of one of Sydney's two greatest
landmarks, taken from the other one! To the right of the photo you can see
the JetCat ferry just departing from Circular Quay, heading for Manly in
the north-eastern suburbs. |
| This photo shows two things - the great feat of engineering
which is the girder construction of the bridge, and the great feat of
courage which is climbing the thing! The little group of people in the
oval is one of many groups every day who pay to climb the bridge. At any
one time there are usual 4 or 5 groups on the bridge. |
